If it were me, for a CRF230F, I'd source a good used 36mm Mikuni BCS CV carb. The DRZ guys are taking them off thier 400's when nearly new and selling them for $50 to $75 bucks. A CV type carb somewhat compensates for the elevation change due to vacuum perting the needle and the larger bore may permit a 'deeper breath' by the engine.Based on my research, the 07/08 CRF450 carb was upgraded to the 41mm FCR, and the carb is known to be a bit finicky with tuning. The prior 02-06 CRF450 carbs are 40mm. Being bigger it'll be less low end and more top end power.
