When was the last time they were right? I believe it was actually before automation in the 1960's. Now that automation rules the auto count can be ridiculously off because it can come from a scheme dating from 10 years ago when mail was tanking and a heavy package load was 50 spurs.

Those 100 parcels that you put in mailbox only get you 24 seconds each under rrecs compared to 48 seconds including scan under old mailcount. 100 x 24 = 2400 seconds. That's 40 minutes per day or 4 hour loss weekly compared to old mail count.
